Your Summer Crush: South African Chenin Blanc

Cherished by wine insiders, world-class in quality, and fairly-priced, Chenin Blanc from South Africa remains something of a mystery to most wine lovers. In this special FREE Bevinar on May 21st, Mark Oldman is going to change all of that, and explain why South African Chenin Blanc will be your summer crush.

Mark will be joined by three of South Africa’s leading winemakers, who are braving the six-to-nine hour time difference to tell us their perspectives. The winemakers are: Ken Forrester (Ken Forrester Wines), Ricardo Cloete (Bellingham Wines), and Ryan Puttick (Old Road Wine Co.)

We will cover:

  • Why Chenin Blanc is so loved by sommeliers
  • How Chenin Blanc became South Africa’s signature grape
  • What distinguishes South African Chenin Blanc from its counterparts in France, the U.S., and other regions
  • Devastatingly good food pairings with this gloriously crisp, summery wine
  • Insider terminology, regions, and wineries to know
  • Much more

Moreover, if you’ve ever been to one of Mark’s presentations, you know it is brimming with humor and his trademark “nuggets” of useful insider information that you won’t find anywhere else.

There is no charge for this virtual event, but attendance is limited, so please reserve your spot ASAP. After the tasting, registrants will be sent a link to the video recording to review or in case they cannot make the livestream.

You are encouraged — but not required — to taste along with Mark. If you wish to buy the accompanying Bevinars wine kit from Wine.com (which includes four of the six bottles featured), please go here. See below for the featured wines. You can also ask your local wine merchant for one or more of these wines.
